It is SO nice that my husband is now working from home. We have a much calmer household and he has more energy now that he is not commuting into the city. That took at least two hours a day, and usually three.
This is a photo of the husband in his home "office" from about a year ago.
1. He sleeps in, and I get up! It's so much nicer when you're not the only one up before six am. Unless, of course, that other person is a toddler. You want that little peson to sleep in so you can blog and drink your coffee in peace.
2. Now that he's home, he is drinking way more coffee and drinking up all my sugar-free creamer! It's costing me twenty calories to drink the regular fat free creamer he buys to replace it. No good, sir, no good!
3. He also washes the pot regularly, so in the morning when I stagger out to the kitchen, I have to process with my groggy brain whether the coffee parts are in the machine, or in the dish drainer. Any thing that requires morning thought is BAD.
4. You'd think the guy could now help with pick up and drop off from daycare. Noooooo, I have to do it, because the man took the carseat out of his car when I went to California FIVE WEEKS AGO and has yet to reinstall it. If I want help picking the kid up, I have to take HIS car, and leave my car with him to use. As any woman knows, and any mother of a small child knows, you keep lots of essential crap in your car that you MIGHT need. So, taking his car means I have to make sure I am not forgetting say, my gym bag, or a bag of Target stuff I need to return, or something I'd brought home from work. Fortunately, I love doing dropoff and pickup because it means I get more time with the kid, but I do not like barely making it to work on time every day. I would like a break from that stress (and from looking like a slacker rushing in a couple of minutes late).
These are very small complaints, and I mean them humorously (except #4). I really hope my husband likes this new job as much as his last one, and that it takes him even bigger and better places. He is so talented and I want the whole world (well, the whole tech world) to know about him.
